Why don't I see any more black covers to The Black Parade. Is it so it doesn't scare the preps away that think the song Welcome To The Black Parade is about a dad who took his kid to a marching band, and they wore all black. PEOPLE YOU'RE WRONG! The song Welcome to the black parade is about death and enjoying life while you can. I love MCR but hate the people that think it's cool for 1 or 2 songs.
i love mcr 2. they rock! although i like Famous Last Words and Mama kinda better than Welcome To the Black Parade. but they all rock.
nice comment.
so true.
some ppls dont get mcr.
the only person who i know who knows mcr THE most is my best friend. shes sooooo crazy bout them.
and i totally love the Black Parade cover.
When I was a young boy, my father took me into the city to see a marching band. He said, "Son when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned? Will you defeat them, your demons, and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made? Because one day I'll leave you, a phantom to lead you in the summer, To join the black parade." Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me and other times I feel like I should go. And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets. And when you're gone we want you all to know We'll carry on, and though you're dead and gone believe me your memory will carry on and in my heart I can't contain it. The anthem won't explain it. A world that sends you reeling from decimated dreams.Your misery and hate will kill us all. So paint it black and take it back let's shout it loud and clear, defiant to the end we hear the call.
I think you're full of sh!t

Let me start by saying I'm not a racist. I went to and graduated from a majority black high school where I was second in my class (second to a Korean I would like to add). I participated in many school events and really enjoyed my high school years. And yes I was the target of racism while there because some people felt that whites shouldn't participate in things like marching band, football, etc at my school.
Ok now back to my question. The state of Georgia was 'forced' to change it state flag because some felt it was racist. The people were not allowed the vote on the issue but were asked to accept a new flag (which many have not done). If a state was forced to change it flag because it 'appeared' racist, then why isn't the UNCF forced to change their name since it appears racist by using the word Negro? I know they offer help to others that aren't black but their name still implies they will only help blacks. It's a good concept if the group would put the focus on poor not black.
Good question (at least the last three sentences). "Negro" is an outdated word, offensive to many. I support their mission, but it may be time to update the name, which was more appropriate in 1943, at the time of its inception.
