Blisters on my heels from my Dinkles/Drill Masters..?
Hello. So, I’m in a marching band for my third year now. Our band wears black marching shoes from the company of Dinkles. We wear our shoes at rehearsals as well as when we perform. Unfortunately, I get really nasty blisters from them. I’ve tried wearing long white socks under my black socks, wearing those ankle socks with the little tab on the heel, and wearing blister band-aids. But nothing seems to work. What do you guys do to prevent blisters?
You need to wear 2 pair of socks. The first pair, next to your skin, should be a thin pair of nylon type dress socks, like men’s black dress socks, then the outer pair of socks can be whatever you need to wear for your uniform. The two pair of socks rub against each other, so they aren’t rubbing against your skin.
You might also try thor-lo socks that marathon runners wear, they are thicker, white, and have wicking fibers inside that wick the moisture away from your foot.
