Rico plasticover reeds for my clarinet?

i bought these reeds a few weeks ago and i was using one of them this past week for marching band. the reed is black and it started to get these little white stratches going about half way down the reed. anyone know about this?

Oh i’ve tried those reeds They’re terrible! All the black would peel off and get on my teeth. The reeds don’t have a great sound either. The only good use is that you really don’t need to yet them. I play sax and i invested in a total plastic reed and It’s much better. I’d just use one of those, or switch back to cane reeds.

    It is probably disintegrating. There is no substitute yet for cane reeds.
